Effect on Kanagawa, Japan?

Question:

Hi all,
Could anyone please tell me how the Earthquake/Tsunami has effected Kanagawa Ken? I'm aware that the rail system was down and car manufacturures like Nissan had to close for some time. Did it cause many problems in Yokohama Port? Was the fishing trade effected? Any information at all.

If anyone could give me a few points or direct me to a specific source of information for my question it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Kanagawa (south of Tokyo) was virtually unaffected by the Earthquake/Tsunami.

Unaffected in the sense that nothing was destroyed.

The only affects are that there are many factories in Kanagawa that need to be closed because parts from the northeast Japan are not coming in. There are also various rolling blackouts in Kanagawa depending on your location in Kanagawa. Many major train lines are operating (depending on which parts of Yokohama), the Yokohama subway is running fine, and the major JR lines through Yokohama are operating as well

People are going to work, school and shopping.
