Is a 17 year old permitted to enter Japan without parents?

Im wanting to go to Japan to study Japanese but are you able to enter the country without parents?

Answer:

You need parental consent to leave the country if you're an American. To go to school in Japan you need to be accepted into a Japanese school and a great deal of money. You just can't hope on a plane and enroll in a school there.
It's possible to go there alone,but only under the right conditions.
