Does anyone know of a way to memorialize someone in Japan?

Question:

My good friend who was born in Japan just recently died. I was wondering if anyone knew of memorials or commemorations or things of the like that I could donate to or erect, etc. in her honor. For instance, at many zoos in America, one can donate and they get the name of the donor on a plaque or sometimes you can donate money to a certain organization and they will plant a tree in your honor. I was wondering if anyone knew anything like that specifically in the country of Japan that I could purchase or donate to and perhaps visit or what-have-you later in life.

Answer:

There are few things like that among individuals. That's what corporations do anyway.
