How do you use によって grammatically in Japanese?

Question:

そして、「にとって」?

And when do you use the particle に vs. を for doing something to something else?

For example, both 「魚を食べる」と「魚に食べる」mean the same right? Since ni directs the verb? Please help, very confused....

Answer:

によって can means according, by, due to or because of. It really depends what the sentence is but here are some examples

音楽の好みは人によって,すきすぎです
Music preferences vary from person to person
友達を見ることによってどんな人かわかる
You can tell what a person is by looking at their friends
思想は言葉によって表現される
Thoughts are expressed by words

You only use に for verbs like come, return and go. For others use を
