How do I send a letter to Japan?

Question:

My friend from Osaka, Japan came to America and sent me a letter through the school. She was an exchange student. The thing is, the address' from Japan are different from the U.S. I've tried emailing her but it doesn't work. So sending a letter is the only way. So, How exactly would I send the letter to her?

Answer:

A letter to Japan will cost you about $1. It's currently 98 cents an ounce. All you need is her address.
You shouldn't have any problem with e mail. I've been e mailing people in Japan since the mid 90's.
