I am going to Kyoto for a day trip from Osaka.

Anyway I recommend you to walk through ...
Kiyomizu temple, Ninenzaka, Kodaiji, Yasaka shrine, Gion,
Shinmonzen, Shijo-Kawaramachi and Nishikikoji.
Also recommend you to consider to rent a bicycle.
