Classes in Japanese High School?

Question:

I am going to attend grade 12 in a Japanese high school next year, and I was just wondering what courses they usually take, and how they work. Like how many classes a day, how many/long are the breaks/lunch, and stuff like that! Thanks a lot!

Answer:

You should also note that classes change every day so unlike my school in America where I had Math 1st period, English 2nd, etc etc (or whatever it was) every day in Japan is different and there are students responsible for going and writing down the next day's schedule (after lunch) and posting it in the classroom. So one day you might have English 1st, Math 2nd, Kokugo (Japanese studies) 3rd, etc, the next day you might have Math 1st, then PE, etc. and while you'll have math 4 times a week, it'll be on different days and at different times from week to week.
