Japanese gameshows help?

Question:

I am doing a presentation on japanese game shows and i need some fun facts about them.

an example would be that most japanese gameshows are done for the fun of it. there are no cash prizes.

I need as many as you can give me, but please be truthful any fact will do if it makes it easier compare there shows to ours

thank you for any help you can give me

Answer:

The key word about japanese game shows is FUN. Lots of fun. Some ridicule the perticipants to the extreme but many are just good humoured fun. Very challenging too. Example is Banzuke. This game show tests participants in particular skills such as push-ups , unicycle obstacle course , pogo jumping course etc. Participants range from world champions , Olympic Champions and your ordinary Joes but many do not succeed. Many other game shows combine wits , quiz questions and stamina. Eating competitions too. Its so entertaining and that's why there are so many spin offs shows all over the world.
Another country where the game shows are widely televised is Germany where you have competitions between different towns. Its been popular since decades ago.
Most do have prizes but the japanese seldom use this as the attraction to the game.
