How would it be possible For a American Citizen to get citizenship in Japan?

Question:

While i was studying the Japanese language i thought it would be great to live there. Is it possible to get permanent citizenship, and also how would i do it?

Answer:

Possible, but very hard to do. You need to live there for over 5 years. It's more easy to get permanent resident status.
You just can't move there though. You need a full time job. To get a work visa you need a four year degree & a job offer before you get there. Also not an easy task. The only jobs we can get are those that a Japanese can't or won't do. The recent tragedy has put thousands of people out of work.
