Nice rural city in japan with an international school and work for a highschooler?

okay well its been my dream to go to japan watching those anime's and all the relationships that happen in them are in rural cities. So i am asking what is a nice place to go and stay that will be good fora highschooler and his friend to live and work

You can obtain a student visa if you get accepted in a university or high school, has house/apartment you can stay in & has money to support your stay. Otherwise, you won't be able to live your "dream life in a rural city." Best rural cities are in Tohoku region, but as we all know the Miyagi-ken was hit by a tsunami and Fukushima-ken has nuclear crisis. So some of alternative rural cities could be in Okayama, Nagano, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, etc.
