How did the US help Japan?

Question:

I have to do a project on ways the US was involved with japan and how they helped them? does anyone know? thanks:)

Answer:

Right after the earthquake and tsunami disaster, US military in Japan dispatched a number of ships and troops to off the coast of the Tohoku area for search and rescue mission for the victims. In addition, they dispatched a large amount of emergency food for the people in shelters. Their great assistance was widely reported by the media, and many Japanese appreciate their Operation Tomodachi (friends).
