Do the Japanese believe in demons?

Question:

Or are there just bad spirits and good spirits? If they believe there is demons, is there such thing as a good demon or are they all negative? What are they said to have looked like? (according to stories to such)

Kind of, I believe there are demon like gods in Shinto. But a lot of Japanese aren't all that religious. We do say stuff associated with Shinto and Buddhism, but mainly it's a cultural thing rather than a religious thing, if you know what I mean.
