If I were to visit Japan in its present condition since the 2011 tsunami/earthquake, where would I go?

Question:

... that isn't in the danger zone? Got to stay away from Tōhoku-chihō.

Answer:

You are aware that probably 90% or more of Japan was in no way harmed by the tsunami or earthquake, right? Plenty of places in Japan didn't even feel it. Take the opportunity to get out of Tokyo and experience what the rest of Japan has to offer. Kyoto, Nagoya, and Osaka are all interesting places and are well away from Tokyo, the tsunami and quake-hit areas, and the Fukushima Daiichi plant. There are also plenty of other places farther south/west/southwest in Honshu (e.g. Hiroshima and the surrounding area), plus the islands of Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa. If you could find a safe way you might even be able to go north to Hokkaido.
