Experience traditional Japanese customs, traditions and cuisine.
Go see a Kabuki play at Kabuki-za in Ginza in Tokyo.
Shop in Ginza.
Attend Sumo wrestling matches at Ryogukan in Tokyo.
Take an Onsen bath at any natural hotspring anywhere.
In Beppu, have a Sunaburo(sandbath).
Everything else that you can do in the US.
