Answer:
Look at it this way -- 1 yen is about 1.3 cents from your example above.
But most people don't think that way - just take the most current exchange rate from a site like
www.xe.net or www.oanda.com and just plug in the numbers.
Now $1 is about 76 yen - so 1000 yen is 1000/76 or about $13.16
or
$25 is 25 x 76 or about 1900 yen.
