Would you still travel to Japan even after the eaethquake/tsunami?

Question:

I ask some of my friends this and they say "No,because they just had an earthquake so im not going anywhere over there." But what they don't understand is that not all parts of Japan were affected. I for myself will still love to go and i will once i get the money i need. Would you still travel to Japan?

Answer:

Of course.

The earthquake and tsunami affected the northeast coast of the island of Honshu in Japan. Like you noted, there's a lot more to Japan than that area. Basically anywhere that any tourist from outside of Japan is going to visit isn't even near that area anyway.

If you think about it, now that a major earthquake has happened, and the aftershocks have basically finished, it's probably less likely that another major earthquake will occur.

What makes your friends so sure that where they are now is any more safe? I don't know where you're from, but there's always something that can happen anywhere in the world.

Lots of people are still traveling to Japan. Lots of foreigners are living in Japan. Lots of foreigners lived through the natural disasters and continue to live in Japan.
