Can i buy Cigarettes in japan as a foreigner without a TASPO card? or if not how do i obtain one?

I am going to live in japan ( fukuoka city) for 2 years as a student and will atend a university. I am 20 years old, aand would like to know if i would be able to or not, thanks

Answer:

TASPO is only for vending machines. You can buy cigarettes in stores, if you have photo ID. with you.
You could get your TASPO if you had Japanese adress and got formal 外国人登録証明, "Alien Registration Card."
