Brian, I don't think that will be possible. Japan isn't like the US, they have very strict laws when it comes to working there.
In most cases, you need a BA / BS degree to qualify for a work visa. Plus a job offer before you get there.
Other problems are you would need native level Japanese to do this kind of work. That not only means speaking, but reading & writing as well. In Japan, if a Japanese can do the job, they will always be hired first.
