Does Japan recognize civil unions or domestic partnerships?

I know the same sex couples cannot marry in Japan, but what about "civil unions" and "domestic partnerships"?

Answer:

That kind of relationship is not recognized or appreciated as much as married couple in Japan even if it's not the same sex. So the same sex partnership is not even in questions.
