Does japan have native reservations like in the usa?

Question:

I was watching a alex jones movie on you tube and they said japan has a native population like in the usa reservations.

Just wanted to check with anyone who knows japan well to see if that's true. Ty in advance

Answer:

Not exactly. The "natives" of Japan are the aborginal people called Ainu and their culture and social structure have pretty much been decimated by over 600 years of persecution by the Japanese. In the US, the native Americans still retain their culture and languages. They have semi-autonomous rule within the reservation. But none of this exists in Japan.

Sadly, the Ainu culture is basically dead although the descendants still exists in Japan. They are more of a tourist attraction then an actual thriving community.
