This joke made me laugh, but unfortunately there's no real equivalent of it in Japanese >< So for Japanese people they'll go "Huh?" and the joke is not as funny as it is in English. There's no real fluent and natural way to phrase it because I don't think the Japanese will get it; there is a way to write it, it just doesn't have the same effect. Not to mention that in Japanese there are so many ways to say "end". The "owari" and "haji" both mean end, but are used for different things. The "haji" is used to express the end parts of the hot dog while the "owari" generally expresses the ending of something.
