What is there to do in Japan and Taiwan?

I asked this question before but I decided to ask it again because I want more answers.

I am going to both countries in January. Does anyone have any suggestions of things I can do in both countries. Even if you tell me about 1 of the 2 of them I really appreciate it. Thanks!

Why not ask separately in both places? you will get better responses. Not sure about the Taiwan section but this question is fairly frequent on this section and searching through the database will provide lots of leads and also searching Google is a bonus as well
