I was thinking about buying lots of goods in Japan and wanted to know the best place for handling excess baggage? Luggage/items will be sent to Australia.
Answer:
Unless it is a huge amount of stuff or it is oversized/overweight, it is often better to pay the excess baggage fees of the airline rather than by the postal mail system. Alternatively many airlines have cargo
companies as well and it may be cheaper. Do not Fed-Ex them - the cost will be insane.
If you are not in any hurry for the stuff to arrive, then look into consolidated cargo by ship.
