How comes that most Japanese do not consider themselves Asians ?

Question:

Answer:

Asians is too general of a term. They, along with other asian groups, could be offended that people would be ignorant about different asian races and group them all under a general term. Japanese have strong identity and do not like to be confused with other asian countries people (as do most people in the other asian countries)
