Reference letter - should I hand-write it?

Question:

I need to ask my former Japanese teacher for a reference. The problem is he gave me one last year just before I graduated to apply as a JET. I had to cancel that application and now I'm applying to some 英会話 and need him to give me a reference again. I want to hand write my letter to show respect - would this be appropriate? I would be writing in Japanese using some 敬語 (hopefully accurately)

Answer:

I basically agree with Noh Yoy in the sense of how you makes the letter look like "document" when you apply for the JET program.
I'm not sure of the procedure, but I think the letter needs to be translated into English. (by an authorized translator)
