Are there any places in Japan completely untouched by modern culture?

Question:

Everywhere in Japan seems to be too westernized, buildings, fashion, tv, etc, even in places like Kyoto, but are there any places completely preserved and untouched from modernization? No electricity, no cars, etc, just wooden architecture, paper doors, kimonos, etc.

Answer:

No electricity is impossible.

But Taketomi jima is nice place.
Few modern cars (lots bicycle for tourist though), few concrete made establishments and no asphalt roads.
