Do you know anyone who lives in the States that could forward purchases to you? I've found that most online places really rip you off on international shipping costs. I've found it cheaper to have the items sent to a friends house and then forwarded to me here in Japan.
I know this doesn't immediately solve your problem, but if you can find someone it will sure make it a lot easier to get the things you want as it will open up a lot more stores to you.
