Flight to yokosuka japan?

Question:

I live in Greensboro North Carolina. I need a cheap but safe round trip flight to Yokosuka Japan to see my friend. He is in the Navy and hasn't been home in a year! Can someone please post some links or advice on what airport, and overall what I might need for the trip? I want to stay for about a week.

Answer:

Your best bet would be to fly into Narita airport in Tokyo, then take the Nozomi (train) or any train to yokosuka. Any international flight would bring you to Narita, anyways, and then you would be paying an arm and a leg for a private flight to yokosuka. It's really not that far from Tokyo, maybe a 3 hour train ride (that's an estimate).

Also, have no fear: the train station in Tokyo is very English-friendly. Even if you don't know Japanese, almost all employees know english, and even many strangers will drop everything and help you find where you need to go. Japan is very safe and the trains are incredibly efficient and foreigner-friendly. Even their announcements on the trains are in both english and japanese.
