Is Japanese Chewing Gum Safe?

Question:

I was wondering if Japanese chewing gum was safe from nuclear radiation due to the Fukushima nuclear disaster. I am ordering this online, and it is shipped straight from Japan. I am aware that imports from Japan are being scanned for radiation, but was wondering if there is a possibility that it would contain radiation (which packages they ACTUALLY check, and the strength of the geiger counters).
