They are very very popular in Japan. According to reliable statistics, they are more famous than Kara at this period of time although Kara had their ''Huge Japan Base in Japan''. Talking bout sales and popularity in their concerts, I suppose they are above Kara by a little bit. Based on some interviews, Japanese preferred SNSD korea then their own AKB48 japan girl group.
