While writing a kanji character like this 涯(with the water on the left), how should I write?

Question:

...the 3 drops. From right to left or from left to write (they look thicker on the right side).

Answer:

Generic rule
#1: Left to Right
#2: Top to Bottom
The rule #1 comes first, then #2.
So three dots on the left side of 涯 should be written first. and These should be written from Top to right. Then look right hand side, top to bottom.

If the character consists of upper half and lower half: like 昏, you should follow only the rule #2. 氏 on the top first, and then 日 at the bottom. If this character combined with other iten on its left, like 婚. That left thing, 女, should be written first.
For example 結婚, which means marriage, You start with 糸 then, 士, 口 女 氏 日.

Another generic rule is
#3: Horizontal piece to Vertical peice. The stroke should run; left to right, or top to bottom
So, after you completed three left dots of 涯, you right the top flat then the slope in the middle, then next hirizontal, next vertical, then next horizontal, next viertical....
