Answer:
there has not really been that much released so far.
If the ponds really catch fire for a long time, the plume will probably not travel more than about 200 miles. Chernobyl didn't. It would not be like a neat target-shaped deposit, but a wiggly shape depending on the weather, wind, rain etc.
