Is there a organization or group where you can donate supplies to Japan?

Question:

READ READ READ: I don't want a website where you donate money. I want to be able to donate supplies. Such as important materials. Where I can either drop off the items at there location or I can ship out to Japan. Thank you in advance.

Answer:

Donate money instead of goods. Red Cross is the best organization.
They will transfer your money to Red Cross Japan.
Why goods are not appreciated? In order for them to ship them, they need to bear the expensive air-transportation cost out of the money donated by good-will people. That does not make any sense!
If you ship your goods directly to Japan Red Cross by your own expense, that would be appreciated.
One of the goods the quake victims desperately need right now are clean blankets.

Edit:

@Bryan Kircher
Are your acquaintances living in Tokyo? Then I can understand what you are talking about. Yes, many 100-Yen shops and convenient stores are running out of daily necessities because many selfish people are buying them up. It is totally OK with you to send toilet papers and other stuff to your acquaintances in Tokyo. But they are not tsunami victims, right?

But, this asker is obviously trying to send goods from overseas to the tsunami victims who are trapped in the areas where tranportation network has been totally destroyd. Then the story would be totally different, considering the shipping cost, custom clearance, tax, and quarantine inspection, which takes a long time, and there is a possibility that some of the items may be rejected. However, if this person donate money, instead of goods, through Red Cross, his money will be directly sent to the Red Cross Japan which has a strong connection with the government of Japan. So, all the procurement of the goods, foods, fuels and other necessities are taken care of by our government procurement office directly from manufactures in large amount with lower cost. And, the goods will be promptly delivered by Japan Self Defense Force, not by Takkyu-bin or FedEX as in the case of yours. The government of Japan would never procure items from those cheap made-in-China 100-Yen shops or convenient stores where your acquaintances are having trouble finding toilet papers.

Please note that I have no intention to insult you; being a Tokyo resident myself I can understand what you are talking about as I said above. BTW, I am running out of toilet paper, would you send me some of them by any chance? LOL!
