What was the construction of peasant homes in feudal Japan like?

Question:

I want to know a lot about them for a story I'm writing. Did homes have multiple rooms or was the home just one large room? Did they have a front door or no? What were peasant homes made of?

Answer:

Huts made of straw or brush or mud. The lucky ones were made into sex slaves by the ruling classes and got to live inside. A lot like the world today.
