How can China/Japan/Taiwan sell to the U.S. so cheap?

Question:

I can buy items so cheaply at local Asian stores, compared to typical stores. And when I buy online from Asia, its so very cheap!

If 100 yen = about $1.25 in our money... how are Asians even making profit when they sell to us?

Answer:

Japanese goods are not cheap. Do not lump them together with China and Taiwan.

As for China and possibly Taiwan. Cheap labor and a population desperate for work so they fill those cheap labor jobs.
