Who knows info about the bombing of Pearl Harbor? It is my history day project so I need info. Please help!!!!?

Question:

Answer:

Ok i love World War II history so.....

December 7, 1941 was the day Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Imperial Japanese - a day that will live in infamy - quote from President Franklin Roosevelt during his speech on December 8th. In that speech, he declared war against Japan, and then Hitler declared war agianst the U.S, which can be seen as the start of the second world war.
It was a Sunday morning in Hawaii when the harbor was attacked by Japanese planes and destroyed about 20 vessels and i believe around 8 battleships - which included the USS Arizona. Of the 2400 people lost that day, and about 1000 others wounded, over 1000 lives were lost from the crew of the Arizona. Today, there is an Arizona memorial that you will want to look up.
I will post some good links and general info about the attack.

There was a conspiracy that FDR let the attack happen on Pearl Harbor, i actually did a school report on it. Some people believe that FDR had knowledge of an attack on the harbor, but let it slide because he was in favor of joining the war. Congress did not want to go to war, for obvious reasons of coming off of the Great Depression etc, and FDR knew that if Japan bombed the crap out of U.S. soil, the United States would have to go to war. Keep in mind that this is a theory. I would do some research on FDR Pearl Harbor conspiracy.

There is SOOOO info about Pearl Harbor. With that being said, use good websites! Wikipedia is good for GENERAL INFO, do not use statistics from Wikipedia unless you find that source within the Wiki article. The 70th anniversary just came up and you can find TONS of info about Pearl Harbor.

In all honesty, this will be one of the easiest history projects you may ever do!

Have fun and remember those who gave up their lives for our freedom.
