How would the Japanese Bury a reactor? How would they do it?

Question:

My Idea was that they would plant precise Explosives around the plant and set them off to cause the ground to give and the plant or reactor thing to fall in. But I know thats probably not the case so How would they do that?

Answer:

In the weeks following the Chernobyl explosion, thousands of people risked their lives building a massive concrete 'sarcophagus' around the damaged Reactor Four. This sarcophagus encases the damaged nuclear reactor and was designed to halt the release of further radiation into the atmosphere. A similar structure can be built at Fukushima.
