Is japan a religious country?

Question:

i just been hearing they are ethiest,
or they just have a portion of buddhism and shintoism
or more just simply believe in spiritual practice but not religious

just wanted to know which

Answer:

Why do you think atheists (not ethiest) are not religious?
Buddhism has no God but Buddhists are very religious.
There are some gigantic Buddhist organizations in Japan.
They are very religious.
Also, there are many Shinto groups (denominations) who practice Shinto rituals.
Unlike other religions, Shinto has no teachings; its a spiritual belief in nature and the origin of the nation of Japan.
Although majority of the Japanese do not belong to any particular religious groups, they have a strong sense of ancestor veneration which combines Buddhist practice and Shinto spirits in their mind.
